One Week until the Maratón Valencia

Six weeks of full focus on this one race and the goal to run a new PB and only one week is left until this race. The first four weeks went just perfect, the quality of the sessions were good. I had some good sessions like a 16 k run in 3:25 pace or 4x3 k in 9:43 and the last 3 k in 9:26 which is an 3:13 pace overall. But of course also some not that good sessions but no really bad session. However the quantity of runs this four weeks was insane, I run between 227 and 230 km each week for this four weeks. I felt good and didn't have any problems and I didn't feel very tired even so I did a lot also needed to work and I moved flats between the running. But two weeks ago I started to get some smaller issues with my knee and I stopped running for four days to not risk anything. After that four days I started running again and I was able to do the probably most imported trainings session in my schedule: a 35 k run with the last 15k fast. I did the last 15k in 3:29 pace, which means that it was a very good sessions even though you need to consider that because of the four days running break I was much more rested than I am usually in the middle of a trainings block. My knee felt good but I probably run in an relieving posture so I started to get some problems with my calf two days after this session. Now I am mainly resting. The main training is done, I am just hoping that on race day my knee and calf will not cause any problems. I am not sure how it will effect my race that I lost more or less one important week of training because of my knee problems. I think the main training was already done before so it should not cost me too much time. But now it is just time to rest, to wait and to get nervous for the race. What do you think?

The picture is from the Tórshavn marathon this year, I hope I can produce something similar special in Valencia.
